About this upside down text generator
This generator flips text by swapping each letter for a Unicode character that looks like it turned upside down, such as ɐ for a and ǝ for e. For the full effect the order is reversed too, so the text reads correctly when you turn your phone around; with several lines, the line order is reversed as well. You can also keep the normal reading order with upside-down letters, or simply reverse the text without flipping any letters. Because the result is plain Unicode, it pastes into chats, comments, usernames, and bios.

Frequently asked questions
How does upside down text work?
Unicode includes letters from other alphabets and phonetic symbols that look like rotated Latin letters. Each letter is replaced by its look-alike, and the text is reversed so it reads normally when rotated 180 degrees.
Why do some letters look slightly different?
Not every letter has a perfect upside-down twin in Unicode, so the closest match is used, and a few capitals and digits look approximate. Letters with accents are flipped as their plain letter.
Does it work for text in other languages?
Only Latin letters, digits, and common punctuation are flipped. Other scripts, such as Chinese or Cyrillic, are reversed but not rotated.
Can I turn upside-down text back?
Paste it into the input and flip it again: flipping twice returns the original for letters that have an exact upside-down pair.
