About this text reverser
This tool turns text around in four ways. Reverse the whole text to write it backwards, reverse the word order to turn "one two three" into "three two one", reverse each word in place for puzzles and codes, or reverse the order of lines to flip a list or a log so the newest entry comes first. It reverses by visible character, so emoji like 👍🏽 and letters like é are not broken into pieces. It also tells you when your text is a palindrome.
How to reverse text
- Add your text. Type, paste, or press an example. An example only fills the box.
- Choose what to reverse. Pick the whole text, the word order, each word, or the line order.
- Press Reverse text. The reversed text appears below; copy or download it.
Frequently asked questions
Do emoji and accented letters survive the reversal?
Yes. Text is reversed by visible character, so 👍🏽 stays one emoji and é stays one letter instead of splitting into a letter and a separate accent.
What happens to line breaks when I reverse the whole text?
They are reversed too, so the last line becomes the first and every line is written backwards. To keep the lines in place and only reverse their order, choose Line order.
Does reversing word order keep the punctuation with its word?
Yes. Words are split at spaces, so "Hello World!" becomes "World! Hello". Each line is handled separately, and the spaces between words stay where they were.
How is a palindrome detected?
Letters and digits are compared forwards and backwards, ignoring spaces, punctuation, capitals, and accents. "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama" counts as a palindrome.
Is this the same as upside-down or mirror text?
No. This tool changes the order of characters but keeps each letter the right way up. For flipped letters, use the Upside Down Text Generator.
