About this random number generator
This generator picks whole numbers between the minimum and maximum you choose, including both ends, using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, the same source used for encryption keys. Every number in the range is equally likely, with no pattern to predict. You can draw one number or up to 10,000 at once, allow repeats like rolling a die again and again, or forbid them like drawing raffle tickets from a hat, and skip numbers you do not want. For larger draws, the distribution table shows how evenly the numbers fell across the range.
How to generate random numbers
- Set the range. Enter the Minimum and Maximum, or press a preset such as Lottery 6 from 1–49.
- Choose how many. Enter How many numbers you want and untick Allow repeated numbers if each number may appear only once.
- Refine the draw. Choose how to Sort results and list any Numbers to skip.
- Press Generate numbers. Copy or download the numbers and check the statistics and the spread.
Frequently asked questions
Are these numbers truly random?
They come from the Web Crypto random generator built into your browser, which is designed for security and cannot be predicted. Each number in the range has exactly the same chance, with no bias towards any value.
Are the minimum and maximum included?
Yes. A range of 1 to 6 can produce 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, just like a die.
What does turning off repeats do?
Each number can then appear only once, like drawing numbered balls without putting them back. You cannot ask for more numbers than the range holds after skipped numbers are removed.
Can I use it for a raffle or a lottery?
Yes. Turn off repeats, set the range to your ticket numbers, and choose how many winners you need. For official lotteries, follow the draw rules that apply where you live.
Why are the counts in the spread table not all equal?
Random results always vary a little. With many numbers the counts get closer to even, which is what the law of large numbers predicts; small differences are normal.
