About this online alarm clock

This alarm clock runs entirely in your browser: no app to install and no account. Set as many alarms as you like, each with a label and one of six sounds made with the Web Audio API, from a gentle chime to a radar pulse. When an alarm goes off, the sound repeats until you dismiss it or snooze it for 1, 5, or 10 minutes, and the tab title flashes so you can find it among other tabs. Alarms are kept in this browser, so they survive a page reload. Because browsers limit background pages, keep this tab open, the volume up, and the device awake; press Preview sound once first, since browsers only play sound after you interact with the page.

How to set an online alarm

  1. Choose the time. Pick the hour, minute, and AM or PM, or press a quick alarm.
  2. Add a label and sound. Name the alarm if you like, choose a sound, and press Preview sound to check the volume.
  3. Press Set alarm. Leave the tab open. When it rings, press Dismiss or snooze it. Turn alarms off or delete them from the list.

Frequently asked questions

Will the alarm ring if I close the tab?

No. The page has to stay open for the alarm to sound. It can be in the background, but some browsers slow down hidden tabs, so check before relying on it for something important.

Why did I not hear the alarm?

Browsers block sound until you have clicked on the page. Press Preview sound once after opening the page, check that the tab is not muted, and keep your device from sleeping.

What happens if the time has already passed today?

The alarm is set for that time tomorrow, and the summary tells you so and shows how long until it rings.

Can I set more than one alarm?

Yes. Each press of Set alarm adds another one to the list, where you can turn alarms off and on or delete them.

Are my alarms saved?

They are stored in this browser on this device and come back if you reload the page. They are not sent anywhere and are not shared between devices.
