Frequently asked questions

How are the numbers written?

Each line gets its number, a dot, and a space, then the original line. Numbers are padded with spaces so the dots line up once the count reaches 10 or 100.

Does a blank line get a number?

Yes. Every line is numbered, including a line that has no text.

Does changing the start number update the result?

Not by itself. Change the number or the text, then press Add line numbers again.
